Our Process

At Mara’s Lighthouse Counseling Center, LLC, we believe that a seamless experience leads to exceptional results. Our process is designed to prioritize our clients needs and their experience with us at every step. Below is an outline of the steps we take to ensure you have the best experience we can offer.


Step 1: Request an Appointment

You can request an appointment by calling our office, sending us an email, or clicking the link in the top right corner of this page! We respond to all inquiries within 48 hours.


Step 2: Initial Response/Discovery

A member of our team will respond to your request in order to gather insurance information. We will also request a brief overview of your presenting concerns to match you with your ideal provider.


Step 3: Schedule Your First Session

Now that your insurance has been verified, we will call you to schedule your first appointment. Once scheduled, we will send you a welcome email to create an account on our portal where you can complete our intake forms virtually.


Step 4: Meet Your Therapist

Now it is time to meet your therapist! If you’ve scheduled a virtual session, you will meet your therapist via our HIPAA compliant platform on the Therapy Notes Portal. You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable sharing. Your therapist will gather important information about you, your family, and your history. This is the time to get a feel for your therapist and begin the healing process.


Step 5: Stay on the Calendar

Now that you’ve had your first session, make sure to speak with your therapist about scheduling continuing treatment. For your convenience, appointments can also be requested via the client portal or by calling the office.
